Microdermabrasion is a skin resurfacing and rejuvenation process which includes removing the dead layer of skin cells via physical exfoliation.
What are the Benefits?
Promotes Collagen Production
As we age and expose our skin to the sun, our skin’s collagen degrades and loses elasticity and firmness causing fine lines and wrinkles.
Smooths out Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Microdermabrasion helps promote collagen production which helps to fill in and smooth out wrinkles and fine lines.
Reduces Acne and Acne Scars
Acne forms when pores are clogged with dead skin cells and sebum, an oil produced by glands in the skin. Microdermabrasion exfoliates and removes the dead skin cells as well as reduces sebum production and clogged pores.
Microdermabrasion can also help with acne scars that are atrophic and are indented as opposed to raised. The collagen production promoted by microdermabrasion can help to fill in the indented scar areas to make the scar look less noticeable.
